Thanksgiving with The Wolf Den 2021

Let the festivities begin!

Hey, y’all! Welcome back to The Wolf Den. This time around, we’re not gonna be talking about anything gaming, movie, or television related, but we’re instead going to be talking about things to be thankful for, and why this time of year should be a time for you all to try and put a smile on your wonderful faces. It’s my sincere hope that with these words, I can turn some frowns upside down, or just keep a smile on your face for the rest of the day. So, without any further ado, let’s jump right into it.

What am I thankful for?

First of all, I’m so thankful to be here, alive. Sure, my life has personally gone through its ups and downs, but that’s everyone’s lives, really. My thing is, when things are hard, I find it so important to make sure I keep my head high, that I stay motivated and focused no matter what. I understand that not everyone can do that as easily as I make it sound, I do, but as long as you try, that’s what matters. Things get hard, but I can assure you all, they won’t stay hard forever. Wanna know what I did to make myself feel better when I was down? I wrote. And guess what? From me writing about random things that I enjoyed, which are the things I talk about here, I inspired myself to start a website. I brainstormed everyday about what I should write about. “Should I do game reviews?” “Should I do movie reviews?” “Maybe movie and television reviews?” Eventually, I decided to do it all. Is it a lot to deal with? Of course. It’s me by myself at this current moment, making sure I pump out fun and entertaining articles for my followers, new and old on a consistent basis. I find myself struggling to balance it between my personal life and my work outside of this, but that actually makes it more fun for me. It gives me something to focus on, gives me something to look forward to.

And that’s the second thing I’m thankful for: this website. This passion project. This nice little escape. Had you asked me 5, maybe 6 years ago back when I was still in high school what I wanted to do with my life, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I had so many different ideas, like becoming a video game designer, an author, a screenwriter, a film director, all of those things. I actually chased those opportunities down too, but college was too expensive, and school was stressing me too much. After I graduated, I jumped right into work, and that was and still is great, but I knew I wanted to do something a little more than just work. I wanted to have fun. It’s always fun to watch movies and TV, and play games with your friends and family or by yourself, but a hobby really picks you up when you’re bored or feeling down in the dumps. Here we are today, writing articles for a few hundred people every week, and that’s so fun for me to do. Whether it’s in my comments on social media, or in my direct messages, I get to connect with some of you talking about cool, entertainment-related topics, and that’s really fun for me to do beyond the writing. The Wolf Den really was and is a dream come true. Does it have thousands, or hundreds of thousands of followers? Nope, not yet, but I know that as long as I continue to dedicate myself to this project, I’ll get there. And it’s not fame that I want. It’s not money. It’s to connect, and make people happy. Sure, I come across people who don’t like my stuff, but that’s okay, because I ask them why. You’d be surprised to know that when I ask them that question, they provide genuine feedback when they just wanted to troll. The Wolf Den isn’t perfect, but it’ll get there, and it’ll get there with the help from you all, which brings me to my next, and final thing that I’m thankful for.

It’s you. Any and all of you reading this entry, reading my other articles, liking and saving my posts on social media, talking with me and being friendly. You guys are genuinely wonderful people, and I never thought that I’d get to interact with so many people that I’ve never known before. That probably sounds off, but what I’m saying is that behind me writing about the things I love, and behind you all reading about the things you love, we got to meet each other and have some fun and entertaining chats. We’re all brought together here and now, just because I want to talk to you all about entertainment topics, and that’s awesome. I'm one nerd speaking to a few hundred, and I hope we can continue it while meeting some other new nerds. The Wolf Den is a safe space for all of you to just relax with. Just read, agree or disagree, and have fun. This is all about having fun, and because of you people, I’m having such a wonderful time. I do have to skip articles every once in a while for work or personal issues, and I do apologize for that, but not once have you guys judged me or looked down on me for it. You just waited. There’s names that I see liking my posts the week after I missed an article, and I’ll recognize them, because those people stood here, waiting for me to do what I promised to do: to entertain, and man, that puts a huge smile on my face. No matter where you’re from, what you believe in, anything like that, I want you to know that you put a smile on my face each and every time we interact or you support me and my website. Sincerely, I appreciate you all, and I’m so eternally grateful and thankful to each and every single one of you. Thank you all so much, this has been The Wolf Den :).

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone.
